Use this 50 cm long thermometer to measure core temperature without getting
dirty. Easy to read display, indicating Fahrenheit and Celsius.
Why measure compost temperature?
When the process of composting starts, after you have stopped adding new material and
closed one chamber, your compost should heat up to at least 40 °C. During composting, core temperature may
rise to something between 55 and 65°C. If your compost doesn't heat up, you will have to add green materials
(like grass clippings) to provide the energy to start the "cooking".
